I’ve always thought that former members of Laguna Flutes are like alumni…they always have a ‘home’ here with our ensemble. Bella Sunshine used to play with us in the early years of our group , back when we still rehearsed in Betsy Foster’s living room (and we had those fun happy hour times after rehearsals…Thank you Betsy). Bella is now the General Manager of the Pasadena Symphony . She recently posted on social media about the need for instruments for the kids in the Pasadena Youth Groups as well as the public school kids in the Altadena area.  Because generosity never goes out of style, I thought that I’d ask members of Laguna Flutes to donate any instruments in working order that they were not using.

WOW…we collected 10 instruments from our small group! And the rich stories behind them make my heart happy. Thank you to Diane Golden, Georgia Higgins, Francine Pancost, Lauren Bergh and Sheryl Porter for your amazing donations. They will provide happiness and joy to 10 kids during a very difficult time of time of loss. We support the next generations of musicians!
